One post is an anecdote. Run this on your last six and quote the average, because a brand that checks will be looking at all of them.
Fill in a post's numbers and you'll get the rate, and the benchmark for an account your size.
Why this one exists
A brand asks for your engagement rate and you have a week of screenshots and no number. This is the number, and the sum behind it.
- By followers is what most brands mean. By reach is the honest one, and it is usually the higher of the two — quote it when your reach is mostly non-followers.
- Saves and shares count. A post that gets saved is a post someone means to come back to, and it is worth more to a brand than a like.
- Smaller accounts rate higher. A 7% rate at 4,000 followers and a 1.8% rate at 400,000 are both good, which is why the benchmark moves with your size.
